I have a 5.1 speaker setup right now and when I do the Auto Cal feature of the Sony STR DG720 it gets "Error 23" which means that no Side speakers were detected.


I have a sub, center, 2 fronts, 2 rears, 0 side surrounds.


Is there a way to use auto cal feature with a 5.1 setup?

The correct answer is:


Connect the Surround Rears to the Surround Side inputs in the receiver regardless of placement.
