quick question:

projectorcentral.com shows the vpl-cx1 as non hdtv. where as others, lt150 for example, say HDTV: 480p,720p,1080i the sony says HDTV: NO. Does this mean anything when the signal comes from htpc anyway? As in signal from hdtv tuner card through xga input should work at settings deemed by htpc, right?

Their both xga resolutions.

What does this mean?

VPL-CX1 (I had one) will do 1080i for HDTV from RCA-DTC100 (set-top box HD-Direct TV receiver) and any thing via HTPC. I upgraded to LT150 for shorter throw and better contrast. CX1 was good except for a few dead pixels :( which I had repaired. It's too dim for any lights being on though. Room must be very dark to have good picture. When room is dark, picture is good especially with HTPC.

Thank you Huey. I've read a few of your other post regarding the Sony and they have been very informative.
