Question:

I have been reviewing the Sony Japan website and the VPL-HS20 info - in particular the table section for throw lengths, screen size, etc. In the table for 16:9 screen ratio, I assume that the screen "type" notation refers to the diagonal and numbers are in "inches." All other dimensions in the table are "mm." Can anyone confirm (as the numbers seem to indicate)? I am also doing a linear interpolation between table entries, which appears reasonable (i.e., trying to fit max screen size in the room and use standard lens to hold down cost).

It's not clear in the HS10 manual, but it is implied by the drawings that they use screen width in their throw calculations. Just guessing, but that's probably the same for the HS20....

The screen size parameter SS in the HS10 manual is for diagonal measurements in inches. I know this because I have used it and calculated my throw distance that way.
