I was told you guys here are the best sources of info for a newbie like myself.

I am looking to buy a flat screen set, would love to get a 36", but a flat screen 36" won't fit in our entertainement center.

I came across the Sony KV-32FS200 ( http://www.bestbuy.com/detail.asp?e=...cat=24&scat=26 ) for $849 at BestBuy and have no clue if it is worth the money or not. It does have the features I am looking for:

FlatScreen

2-tuner PIP

Enhanced WS mode

Fits in the Ent. Center

Is this a good buy? If not can you folks offer some advice or recommendations to look at? I am not wanting to spend a ton on this as we are planning on having our basement finished and turned into a Home Theater in about a year. This will be our primary set for a while.

Thanks for any info you can provide.

The specs at that web site say:

PRODUCT DETAILS

KV-32FS200

Screen Size

32"

Aspect Ratio

4:3

Digitally Compatible

No

Digital Capabilities

None

That suggests it is not digital nor HD capable. But I don't know if that is in your wish list or not.

Sony makes great sets. But generally they are not the least expensive. The 90 day labor warranty would be a concern (but I always get extended warranties on major items).

There is a (meager) review here:

And there is an AVS Forum thread mentioning that set here:

Yeah, the HD compatability is not a necessisty for me. With the knowledge that we will be doing the basement I know we will spend the cash next year to get the HDTV ready components.

Unfortunately I can't find ANYTHING other than the few links you provided about this set. I know it is more expensive than the other sets I found, but it is te only one that has the falt screen and 2-tuner input. I don't have a VCR so can't do PIP that way.

If anyone can recommend other sets to look at I would definitely appreciate it.

I'm buying the KV-36FS100, which is the big brother of your set minus the extra (PIP) tuner.

I looked at them in Best Buy last night. The look like a good set. By the way, Sony still sells the KV-36FS13 which has the speakers under the screen so the set is not as wide.

Check out www.sony.com for the specs.

Regards.
