SONY XBR150 reliability issues.

After coming across this article re: SONY XBR150 reliability issues. I emailed it to my cousin just as a FYI- he email me back and said the was having this issue for some months now and was just about to call SONY for Help. Man was he Happy to get this AVS info.

I searched for threads regarding other owner having to deal with SONY. Is there a thread? Or more sources about this case.

My cousin is not an AVS member so I thought I would gather some info for him.

Try the thread with over 1,100,000 views and counting. BTW, it's an XBR1 50".


I had the XBR1 60" and ran into some issues. Sony did right by me and replaced it with a more reliable (and full 1080P) XBR2 60". Hopefully your cousin can resolve his issues as well.

Just an update.

My cousin said Sony repair came out to the house replaced some "panel boards".

I looks OK now, however, the Blue- is very dominant. He plans to calibrate it this weekend. To see it this is the issue. Which I think it is. I'm glad is came across this issue. All is good- for now...
