I have a question I hope you can help me with. Last month, I purchased the Sony 32 inch XBR9 HDTV set. I also own a Panasonic DMR-EH55S DVD Recorder. For some reason the Sony XBR9 tuner is overriding the Panasonic DVD recorder's tuner.


Meaning, I have the DVD recorder connected with an HDMI cable, and the TV's tuner comes on in the Component 1 setting.


I'll have the video recorder's timer set (time shifted)to record say channel 7. And, I'll be watching ,for example, channel 9 on the Sony TV at the same time. When the DVD recording begins, it doesn't record the channel it was set for, channel 7. Instead, it records channel 9 or whatever the XBR9's tuner's on. I didn't have this problem when the recorder was connected to the old (RCA) TV.


I may be wrong, but I don't think the IR blaster is causing this, as I can still use the recorder's tuner to change channels with it. It's just once the DVD recorder starts, it's not recording the right channel.

P.S.This happens whether I'm using Component 1 or HDMI.
