I've read quite a bit about sound absorption/reducing reflections on front and side walls of an HT room. I built a "false" wall about 3 feet out from the actual front wall and put my screen, speakers and components on it. This gives me access behind the components for easy cable installation. Do I need to install sound absorbing insulation on the wall behind the front speakers? Thanks for your help. Bill

If you're using it for multi-channel / HT - then yes. The whole front wall should be dead. I'd also take advantage of that hidden space for some nice large bass absorbers in the corners.
