I use SB live pro, but any cheap sound card from behringer would do the job equally well.

I'd also suggest looking at this USB DAC as it's gotten pretty great reviews, especially at its price:

I just received one a few days ago and so far I'm absolutely loving it. It's USB and TINY so once you're done using it with the laptop you can always shift it to a PC or keep the laptop near the audio system and use it as a dedicated music server offering up bit-perfect lossless audio up to 24-bit/96kHz. Just an idea.

If you have a headphone output jack and a mic input jack you have an internal sound card, you use it like any sound card.
