I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for a good sound card with a digital coax out, just for pass through, that isn't too expensive (

Check out newegg.com to see what they might have to offer. Another option is ebay. What O/S are you planning to run??

im running windows (only because im too lazy to upgrade to something decent).


newegg and ebay were both pretty bare, at least in the price range im looking for. the only one on newegg only output stereo sound through the coax out, and the rest there were over 150. ebay just seems sorely lacking in sellers who know what they're talking about, and i havent been able to find much of anything searching for coax out or s/pdif.

if you ok with toslink, i highly recommend the Chaintech AV710 - it has a huge following on numerous forums as being bit perfect, in 2 channel it sounds pretty good as well when using the Wolfson "audiophile" dacs.


And it only goes for around $25...
