Is there a relatively cheap or free way to amplify the headphone out from a computer?

My problem is that I have a 50' run of RG6 coax running from my kitchen to the stereo in the family run. It's terminated with f-connectors with rca adapters screwed in. That goes through a faceplace and is plugged into my wife's computer with an rca to 1/8" adaptor which is plugged into her headphone jack. However, the sound is drops off to almost inaudible. When I crank the stereo almost all the way up, the music sounds crystal clear, just very very quiet. I'm guessing it's because the headphone port isn't powered. The stereo receiver is a 30 year old Jensen of unknown province.

Any suggestions? The wireless audio streaming option is most likely out, because there's no way she'd let me spend 200 bucks to stream music, even if she would be the one using it.
