I am looking for a sound level meter to use with the Avia dvd I have heard so much good about.


Radioshack has a nice one, and its around $50.


I found this one on ebay, though, for $20 shipped.

Both seem to have pretty similar specs, both are +/- 2dB at 114dB. The radioshack had a digital display, kinda nice I guess.


Would this one do good enough, or is the ratshack meter worth the extra 5 pitchers of beer?

Most folks use the radio shack one, and have had great results. I use the digital radio shack meter and Avia, and am very happy, and I use it over and over, every time I move furniture, or my speakers, or change something.


Tried and true (radio shcak meter). It'sup to you if the security is worth it.

That looks like basically the radio shack meter. It wouldn't surprise me if it were the same.

Now that I look at them both again, the ebay one does look exactally the same as the radioshack analog, minus the color of the casing. Ill go for the ebay one. Thanks guys.
