If I have tv with the red and white analog outputs and I plug in a soundbar without a remote for the volume, will the TV remote be able to adjust the volume for the soundbar? If so, will the audio on the tv still be going while the soundbar is working?


The TV I am refering to is this RCA 40LA45RQ.

Look in your user menu. If the RCA lists variable and fixed as output choices for analog out, you are fine. Simply change the setting to variable. If this is not an option, then the TV will not control the volume.

ok, thanks thats good info! I don't own this tv yet, but I'll see if I can't find an online users manual for it or for which ever tv I actually choose.
