Looking for thunderstorm sounds, heavy ocean waves, cool special effects, ambient sounds that go all around you, THX intro etc... Any of these sound samples out there to test out 5.1 or 7.1?

Just get War of the Worlds, and Iron Man 2 on Blu-ray - then have fun.


I am not a big fan of the movie Twister - however, some interesting sound effects.

If you know where to acquire um certain files (A strong and fast-moving stream of water or other liquid kinda word hah). Search for DTS Demo. There's a few demo discs floating around that were for demoing surround sound in stores. One has a variety of THX demo's and Dolby Digital demo's.

127 Hours on Bluray has an extremely realistic sounding rain/thunder scene. It's an amazing experience on a good system.


Disney's Oceans on Bluray also has some very good ocean wave sounds.

I still think that Tron Legacy on Bluray is the best sound experience to date, at least for me.
