South Park: The Stick of Truth

So I've known for a while I would be getting this, and after yesterday I'm even more sure. Anyone else picking this up? Looks absolutely brilliant. A classic turn-based RPG in the South Park universe. Video is NSFW due to language, but you owe it to yourself to watch it if you're a fan of the show. It truly is just like playing an episode.

I want it as well but will wait until a sale of $40 or less.

I preordered it for around 20. Russian traders are getting it cheap.

I got a legit Steam key for $30. You have to be careful, they're now region-locking games on Steam. I also don't want to bother with a VPN.

I got a legit ROW steam gift for 20 without a VPN.

They have added tags in the last few days making this no longer possible without using a VPN for a number of games unfortunately.
Played it for a little bit and while I am a big South Park fan I don't like turn based RPG's so that aspect of the game (while very basic) is also boring and leaves me wishing it had been more hack-n-slash (which would have felt more true to South Park's over-the-top style).

Really going to disagree on the hack-n-slash style. I personally cannot stand it because it's either pointless button mashing, or ridiculously stupid combo memorization, no thanks. Had it been HnS, I wouldn't have bought it. Being turn-based is exactly the style it needed to be for the jabs at RPGs in general that are in the game.

I put 3 hours in so far and absolutely love it. and I haven't even finished the first main quest, just been exploring and finishing side quests. The amount of inside humor is fantastic, tons of little things all over the place.
Yeah it has RPG written all over it and I simply don't care for that genre, I am more of an action gamer and RPG's have always bored me.

Some of my favorites have RPG elements (Borderlands 2) but that is about as far as I will go with the genre.

I should have watched more videos on it but I didn't want to spoil the fun, ah well.

I like both styles. Sometimes I like sitting back and taking time to make a decision on something. Other times it's nice to have the action-oriented RPG. As a few examples, I really enjoyed Kingdoms of Amalur. It's a great action RPG that doesn't require too much memorization. The talent system is shamelessly pulled from WoW, but that's fine. The endless side quests are what killed me on the game. Eternal Sonata is another action RPG that was vastly underrated. Yes, it's overly cheesy, but the battle system is quite amazing. You get to pull off group combos that remind me of Chrono Trigger.

I'll probably pick this game up when it goes on sale. I already have a major back log of games I "need" to play, so I'm in no rush.

I definitely enjoy the game, but I really hate when a game doesn't have Steam Cloud support these days.
I didn't like the turn based fighting at first but after getting the hang of it I don't mind it, what I do mind is some of the combinations to activate something

What I'm surprised by is that it's a Ubisoft game that DOESN'T require UPlay
I haven't finished the game yet, but so far it's everything I expected and more. Loving it so far.
I just finished the game. It was very well done and a lot of fun. If you like South Park I highly recommend this game.
