I have a 5080 and I've just spent the week downloading programs and burning them onto DVD.I have about 8 shows left at on average 2 hours a piece - all at medium quality.

No my 5080 says I have 15 hours of space left at medium quality. That seems a bit low to me. my.replay.com says I have 37 hours at medium quality left - but it's said that same thing all week. I even connected to the mothership manually to make sure it was connecting all right.

Any idea what's going on or how I can resolve these descrepencies?

Thanks!

You probably have shows that are set to be recorded which are guaranteed (or "keep till I delete" or "only for new shows" or whatever it is now). What happens when you pause live TV? How many hows does it show?

8 shows, 2hrs/show is 16hrs. 2gb/hr is 32gb used. 48gb is about 24hrs

medium.

The free space is based on the current recording quality. If you chose

high during some testing and forgot to switch back to medium that could

account for the discrepancy. If you have shows recorded in categories

that are not visible in your current category, that could account for the

difference. In 5.1 OS free space is the amount of physically free space.

MRTV is using old 5.0 (and earlier semantics) where free space was

defined as "unreserved" space. "keep until I delete" is considered by

MRTV to be guaranteed and reserved space.

Ok, I found some figure skating my wife had recorded so I think the Replay time remaining is correct - so why is my.replaytv.com wrong all the time?

I have no guaranteed shows and my replay is not counting time for shows that are set to record. Any ideas? Does my.replaytv.com just suck?

Read the previous post, you've explained exactly why MRTV is displaying

37hrs medium, which is almost your entire 80gb disk.

MRTV is using 5.0 OS semantics which says space available comprised

of space which is not guaranteed. Since you have nothing guaranteed

all the space is available.
