Can anyone tell me if I am going to have a problem? I currently have an oval 2 LNB dish (no center LNB). I am running the 4 coaxes down to a Spaun 5801 multiswitch. No problems so far...

I want to get the Sat C LNB from DirecTV and install it. I understand from other posts that the output from this LNB will be diplexed onto the existing coax lines right? So I don't have to run more cable?

Now, the big question is someone told me that my older Spaun 5x01 switch will not work properly with this set up, and that I will need to upgrade to the 5802 multiswitch, or add some sort of 22kHz thingamajig blah blah something I didn't understand.

Can anyone tell me if this is true? Thanks!

You need a Sat C kit. All the parts connect before the multiswitch. See http://www.directv.com/imagine/pdf/MultiSatC.pdf

If the Spaun works on a 2 LNB it will work with a Sat C kit. You may have to figure out which input is the 18V Sat B input. It will be the RHCP, even, or 18V for the 119 slot.

The 22KHz Tone Generator such as http://www.solidsignal.com/prod_disp...?PROD=SP22TGEN is needed on each of the Sat B inputs only if the dish is a Phase III or has a built in multiswitch that is not bypassed. If the Spaun is connected directly to the LNBs, the tone generators are not needed.
