speaker buzz w/ pc hooked to lcd tv

i have an issue with speaker buzz i need some help identifying. i have a vizio 42" lcd with a vizio 2.1 sound bar setup. i want to watch movies off my pc to my lcd but i have some issues with the sound buzzing when my "stereo 3.5mm mini plug to rca cables" are hooked directly to the tv. when i run my rca cables to my sound bar the sound is fine--no issues. this tells me my cables and pc are not the issue i assume? only when i hook the rca cables for sound to the tv instead of the sound bar i get buzzing. furthermore, if i decide to listen to my sound bar (hooked up with optical cable to the tv) with the rca cables in the tv the buzz is now carried to the sound bar, as well as the tv. i am assuming my tv is the culprit of the buzz since the only time i get it is when the cables are plugged into it? the sound seems normal on the tv for cable, dvd, etc., just an issue with the sound with the pc hookup. keep in mind though, the noise is not noticed with the rca's going directly to the sound bar--just when it goes to the tv direct. any ideas what i can do to fix it?

okay just an update, as i been working on this non-stop for the past 4 hours. i have now found out what is making the noise! it is the Coaxial cable for my cable box. as soon as i unplugged it the sound was perfect on the tv and the sound bar! now the bigger issue, how the heck do i fix this?
Seems like a bit of a strange problem...Did you try googling around to see if they had a solution?

I have the same problem. I have heard that a cable tv ground loop isolator will solve the problem but I haven't gotten around to testing it yet.

after spending some time on google i found out how to fix this issue. i had to put a ground strap on the coax splitter outside and take it to the house. as soon as i tightened the screws (i had my girlfriend on the phone listening in the room so i knew if i fixed it), she said it went silent. the cable company didn't have a ground anywhere. so hopefully this info will help someone in the future.

in our community the cable company came around *twice* to audit and install proper grounds on all installations after a universal code update. i guess not so universal...

the first time they just installed the ground to the first accessible water pipe. second time they actually moved the cable so the ground could be installed at the power box.

so i guess it's important.

U mean the #%&[email protected] lazy tech couldn't find a convenient ground and decided to skip it. Good to know, next time I won't trust them so much.
