I have a set of Polk Audio 5 surrounds plus center channel speakers. Maximum watts of 10-80 watts. My question is, if I upgrade my receiver to one that has max output of 90 watts or above will I still be able to use these speakers even though the maximum wattage is rated only up to 80 watts per channel? I would rather not have to upgrade the speakers if I don't have to. They still sound great.

Thank you...

Yup you can upgrade to a new AVR - just don't crank the AVR up all the way!

For a lot of content, any amp (even 1000 watt) will be outputting 1-2 watts. Nothing to worry about.
