Most speaker manufacturers and reviewers give freqency response specs 40 Hz-20 kHz +/- 3dB and graphs showing dB vs frequency. No-one seems to specify dBA or dBC. Which are they using dBA or dBC? A search on the web and my Master Hanbook of Acoustics did not turn up the answer. It is probably such a basic question that they assume people who care will know the answer.
Dunno but it seems to me not to be an issue. The FR is compared with flat (unless otherwise specificied) and, thus, the dB figure tells it all. Does any speaker manufacturer offer a FR compared with a weighted curve?
If the dBA frequency response is flat then the dBC curve will show very elevated lower frequencies. It would make a difference if you are trying to measure the FR of your speakers for placement or to see if a driver is blown (my current situation).
DBA & DBC are a hearing response curve or not of the human ear, which has no correlation to dB as used in other forms of measure other than it uses the decimal system IE 10ths
