Does it really matter if the wire lengths to the speakers on the HT-S790 are not all the same length? If I use 16 gauge on all runs (the longest being 40 feet) will that be okay?

I ran 16 gauge for all my runs (including 2 50ft) and the system sounds just fine.

Yes, 16ga is fine for runs up to and slightly over 50'.


The recommened lengths ususally go.


Up go 50', 16ga is fine

50 - 100', 14ga

over 100', 12ga


I use 14ga for all my speaker wiring as the price difference is minimal compaired to 16 ga and I know I don't have any runs over 100'.

I meant can you have different lengths of wire running to your back 4 speakers?


It just seems like a waste to cut 4 wires 40 feet when only one is 40 feet and the others are like 25 feet and 2 at 20 feet
