I'm trying to set up a HT system without busting the bank.

I'm about to purchase a Panasonic SA-XR57.

The system will be going in our large bonus room (15'x40'). The back half of the room is the gaming area (pool/darts). The front half of the room will be the HT area. I need advice on what speakers would be good to go with this setup without bankrupting me. (maybe $600-$800). (I'm not an audiophile, so the high-end ones would probably be wasted on me anyways!

)


I was thinking of tower speakers for the front so that when listening to music they would be able to fill the room since the room is so deep. I figured the other speaker could be smaller since when watching a movie we'll be in the front half of the room. (The rear speakers are only going about 20' back from the front wall.) I would appreciate any suggestions, as I am not an audio expert.

On the cheaper side there are other alternatives like Velodyne front row:

They are highly regarded by a lot of people for the price, you'll need to buy a subwoofer separately though.


Also check out Procinema 60 from Def Tech (available at bestbuy and other places for $699).

I suggest a pair of Home Theater Direct's Level Three tower speakers HERE . This would give you a nice kick-butt 2.0 system for HT and music.
