Can anyone tell me what occurs during 'lobing'? How do speaker builders try to minimize lobing? Is lobing more of a problem if drivers are close together or farther apart (as in a WTW configuration)? Is there more of a problem if the speaker is placed horizontally (as a center channel)? Do you get less lobing with a vertical placement of a WTW design? Does lobing occur if the speaker is a WWT design?


Sorry for the number of questions. Thanx for any input you can provide.

Thomas, I am so sorry I offended you by asking a technical question on this forum. I deeply apologize. I did not realize that this forum is in a disguise; apparently, underneath it is a graduate school. (Grad student: Professor, what role do the Dirichlet Conditions play when doing a Fourier transformation? Professor: Did you miss the library in front of the building?) I was under the impression that forums like this one and other were for the friendly sharing of info and/or opinions. Again, I apologize.
