Hi,

I have the Denon AVR-2808 and I am looking to buy speakers. I want some opinion on the following brands and configurations:

1. Polk Audio: Monitor 70 Floorstanding/Monitor 40 surround/CS2 Center + PSW125 Sub

2. JBL E90 Northridge Series, E10 Surround Speakers, ECS 25 Center + E 250P Sub

3. Bose AM 15 Series

4. Open to any other similar recommendations?

Thanks,

Vikram

vikram bud, those are some nice speakers there. All except for the Bose AM15s. They're not any ware close to the performance you will get from a decent floor stander.

Trust me, I worked for Bose for three years while in school. Good company for employees but bad for customers who want good sound and can navigate a basic receiver set-up.

I have a 988 (big-box version of the 2808) paired with some of the new B&W 683s -sounds heavenly. JBL's are great too from what I hear.

Good luck with it and stay away from those cubes!

Thanks for the comments. The PolkAudio Monitor series is 2-way while the JBL ones are 3-way speakers. How big a factor is the 2-way Vs 3-way configuration in terms of actual performace?
