Does anybody have any tips on how to keep the sound in my apt instead of my neighbors? I am especially concerned about the downstairs neighbor, i can see her causing my life hell if my speakers are too loud. I am planning on buying the yamaha ns-225F floor standing speakers, mainly because I like the looks of them to be honest. Are floor speakers a bad idea? Would she hear them more downstairs then if i was to buy speakers to hang on the wall, or in a bookshelf? I have hardwood floors, wich adds to the problem. Also anybody have any suggestions on what rear/center speaker i could use with these? I am also probably going to buy a vrs-n8100 receiver, mainly for the network features. Thanks!

More than anything else, it depends on the construction of your building and that, of course, is out of your hands. I have much bigger systems than you are considering and my downstairs neighbors have NEVER complained in 15 years of residence.

I cannot comment on floor-vs.-wall mounting but, if you go with floor-standers, you should consider isolating them with something like the Auralex Mo-Pads and/or Grammas.
