Hey all..

In what's probably my worst brain fart of my build, it never occurred to me that the bottom of the screen frame would obscure some of the cones in a floor standing speaker.

So, now I need to look at fronts that will fit within the space of my screen. The screen is 110"w (viewable) 2.35:1 AT. I've got roughly 2400 cu. ft. to fill with sound.

I don't have a clear budget for speakers defined (I know, that would help), but I'm looking for suggestions that will fit behind the screen.

So far I've come across Triad, the Klipsch THX line, and some of the internet direct brands that make L/C/R.. I'm trying to get a bigger picture of what the options are before I start narrowing on other factors.

Thanks!

You could use Dali Helicon 300 MKII's $4k pair and the matching center C300 MKII $2.75k I have them in my theater and wow. The 300's are a monitor so add a stand, to level them to the correct height.

For that kind of cash you might want to look at JTR, Seaton, and especially Danley Sound Labs.

I don't understand what you are looking for?

Speakers if a certain height? In wall speakers behind your screen?

WHAT?

Presumably he is installing an acoustically transparent screen and wants to put his front soundstage behind it. He therefore needs front speakers that are not taller than the screen itself. Like so:

Exactly. That is what I was trying to explain.

I need to find speakers that will fit inside the area of my screen frame. In this case, the opening is 110"W x 46.375"H. The bottom of the viewable screen area is 26.5" from the stage floor. The stage is 5.5"H.

First row ears will fall ~42"H with second row ears ~55"H.

So, I need to find speakers that will fit in that space and fill ~2400cu. ft. room.

I had originally planned on using floorstandings and wasn't taking into account the bottom of the screen frame obstructing some of the drivers. I'm looking for suggestions of speakers to look at that fit that bill, since most manufacturers seem to focus on floorstanding/bookshelf designs. (If someone has an opinion on bookshelf speakers that will work in my space, that is great, too.) I'm trying to weigh my options. Since it seems like a crucial piece of information, for discussion sake say I want to keep the front sound stage under $4500, however, I don't have a hard budget in mind.

I hope this clarifies my original question. I was tired at the time.

Thanks!
