I just got a new home theaater receiver, and unlike my old receiver, it has banana connectors for the speakers but on my speakers, its pin connectors. Is there a adapter or would I have to get a whole new set of speakers.
You just need to connect metal to metal -- the particular connectors don't matter much for speaker connections.
It isn't quite clear what doesn't match, since you only mentioned the speakers and the receiver and did not say anything about what the speaker wires look like. My guess is that you have pins on the end of the wires. Just cut off the pins and use the fact that the banana jacks on the receiver also work with bare wire. Unscrew the plastic and you'll see that you can wrap the wire around the post and then screw the plastic part down to clamp the wire in place.
