This movie is a MUST SEE for everyone!!! You don't have to know anything about the comic book to enjoy the movie. And yet the movie is so true in almost every way to the comic series. And the actors and actresses (I am politically correct today) are so true to the comics as well. And the Special Effects are SO REAL! As is New York - After 9-1-1, what a tribute to that terror attacks won't stop us from living, seeing Spider-man grace the beautiful New York skyline!!!! I just luved this movie, great from start to finish. Now, I luved "X-Men", too, but I liked Spidey even way more!!!!

I'm not really a spiderman fan, so Steve dragged me to the movie kicking and screaming. ha, ha. not really, but as for the movie, I LOVED IT !!!!

It was very entertaining. Better than X-Men? Yeah. Better story line.

Steve,

I just got back from a 10:00AM showing. I agree with most of your points, with a couple of exceptions. The casting and performances were dead-on. The back story about Peter Parker and how he becomes the web-slinging hero for me was the most compelling part of the picture. If there was a let down, however, it was in the CGI effects. It's almost as if the effects house forgot all about the force of gravity. Spidey seems to move unnaturally fast when swinging around town and his body contorts in unexpected ways while in the air. Thus, many of the CGI shots have a "rushed" look to them which hurt my suspension of disbelief. There were a couple of other missteps, but none of them would get noticed by about 90% + of moviegoers. In spite of my few gripes I very much enjoyed the film, and look forward to its release on DVD.

Jerome, of course you may well be right. But I was just toooo busy enjoying the "Super" Spider swinging through Manhattan and New York and apparently totally defying gravity, sort of like an anti-gravity Yo-Yo from Outer Space!!!! I think that they intended to have Spidey to UNNATURALLY FAST, after all, he is a super powered human spider, swinging free through the New York skyline just like he does in the comic book!!!!
