Hi,

Please can someone help me out, I’m having troubles finding the type of projector I want.

I’m searching for a projector that will allow me to have a split screen (picture-by-picture or picture-on-picture I think they call it) so that I can view 2 separate sources at the same time.

I want to view my computer screen on one-half and say watch a DVD on the other half. Or have my computer on one half and cable tv on the other half.

So I need a projector that will allow me to hook up my computer permanently and at least 2 other inputs (although I guess I could daisy chain the cable tv and dvd). But the main thing is that I don’t want to have to switch wires.

I am not after picture-in-picture. I’m after 2 full screen images side-by-side. Sadly I only have about 2500pounds to spend on the projector.

I can hardly see any projectors with this feature. Or maybe people are not listing all the feature of the projectors. Its very hard to search for.

Another idea would be to buy a projector without the split screen feature and add a box that would accept 3 or more sources and pass on the split screen image to the projector – problem is, does this magic box I talk about exist?

I have seen the split screen feature on some Mitsubishi models. But when I go to the web site they don’t seem to mention the feature. Some say picture-in-picture, but im after picture-by-picture (split-screen).

Thanks in advance.

If you have a computer in the mix, then why don't you just run everything through the computer? For under US$100 you can buy both a DVD drive and a TV tuner card for your computer. Then when you are using the computer, you can have a DVD or TV window positioned anywhere on the Windows desktop you want it. This will work with any projector you buy.

Thanks for the reply thatdreamer.

My computer already has dvd and tv pvr card. But im not after a tv picture on my desktop (that would be like picture-in-picture).

I would prefer them side-by-side so nothing is covered up.

I would always be messing with the tv window position. It would get covered up. Probably drive me crazy.

But if I cant find a projector with split screen I will take that idea up. Thanks.
