Hi,

I have 3 devices with HDMI outputs. However, my HDTV only has one DVI input for video and an analog audio input. I use the monoprice 5to1 HDMI switch to connect 3 devices. I wonder if there exists a cable that splits a HDMI => DVI + analog audio. I try to avoid buying another 5to1 audio switch.

thanks

HDMI is digital audio and video. There is no analog audio on the HDMI cable, therefore you cannot get analog audio from that cable without some sort of expensive device which is much more expensive than a simply audio switch.

But you can certainly use an adaptor to go from HDMI to DVI, then just use the optical out or digital coax from you DVD/HI-Def/Satellite box to go to your amp.
