Does anyone know or can lead me to answers to these questions:

1. Any college bowl games on HD?

2. Superbowl, Jan 2002, which network carries it, and will it be on HD?

3. NFL playoffs, American conference, CBS will carry them on HD, correct?

4. NFL playoffs, National conference, FOX, but no HD, correct?

5. Winter Olympics, Salt Lake City, 2/2002, all NBC, any program on HD? or no HD at all?

6. All 4 golf majors, only the Masters is HD on CBS, correct?

7. NBA playoffs and final, which network, any HD?

8. Hockey, regular season select games on HDnet (gorgeous), how about playoffs and Stanley cup, HD on HDnet?

Thanks !

I would be surprised if CBS didn't air the AFC playoffs in HDTV, unless -- like on Thanksgiving weekend -- they have a conflict with an SEC game they want to air in HD.

I would be very happy to get the Dallas/Detroit game in HD, just because the quality (of the picture, not the game) would be so good.

I do believe that the Sun Bowl is broadcasted by CBS. No word yet if they will be broadcasting it in HD.

The Masters is broadcast in HD by CBS. However, the 2001 Saturday round (the only one I saw on HD) was from a limited number of cameras and employed a "second string" broadcast team, led by Don Criqui [sp]. It was definitely not the full-blown, Jim Nance/Ken Venturi coverage that many of us are accustomed to. The picture was stunning, but it had more the feel of an experiment than a major sporting event. The Masters will be ready for prime-time in HD when Jim Nance and the first team are covering it from all the angles.

Too soon to tell, maybe one on CBS.

2. Superbowl, Jan 2002, which network carries it, and will it be on HD?

Fox, which does no HDTV. Miracles can happen, but I'm not betting on this one.

3. NFL playoffs, American conference, CBS will carry them on HD, correct?

Not confirmed as yet, but it seems like a good bet.

4. NFL playoffs, National conference, FOX, but no HD, correct?

Yup.

5. Winter Olympics, Salt Lake City, 2/2002, all NBC, any program on HD? or no HD at all?

Rumors say opening, closing and a few select venues (ice hockey, figure skating) maybe in HD.

6. All 4 golf majors, only the Masters is HD on CBS, correct?

Yup. And I disagree with the other opinion, the images more than made up for not being able to listen to Jim Nance.

7. NBA playoffs and final, which network, any HD?

NBC, probably no HD, but too soon to know for sure.

8. Hockey, regular season select games on HDnet (gorgeous), how about playoffs and Stanley cup, HD on HDnet?

Too soon to tell for sure, but this may be a possibility.
