Speed fan and hard drive sentinel say my HDD is always 53. Lowest temp recorded is 52.

Where is a HDD temp measured. 53C equals 127F. I would think the drive would be pretty hot to the touch which it is not.

The pc is an old Emachines with a P4, I know the airflow sucks but this temp always bothers me. Its a 3 or 4 year old 160gb WD drive. This is the system drive of my server so it runs 24/7.

Anyone know if a drive with a temp of 53 would be pretty hot too the touch are is it all internal?

I guess I need to power it down for a couple hours and then see what the temp reads right away.
