Really wishing Comcast & HDNet would get a deal done. It bothers me to be a huge fan of both the Mavs and HD and yet not be able to appreciate this type of offering in our market.

"FULL COURT FP: San Antonio Spurs at Dallas Mavericks. Gametime 7:30pm, ET 10/26. Call 1-800-GET-SPORTS to order or for more information. FREE PREVIEW (1/10/04-1/14/04). Game may be subject to blackouts."

Looks like only the Dallas area will get this game. That sucks! It would have been nice to see the Spurs in HD. I even have LP, but I guess that doesn't matter.

Any word on what channel this will show up on for Dish Network? And more specifically, what satellite will have the feed?

Also, will these games be carried by the local channel 21 HD channel OTA? I've seen HDNet broadcasts from time to time on channel 21.

Go Mavericks!

Last season the games were carried on channel 84 which used to be the special events channel on D*. I am guessing it will be on channel 97 like it was last night. I did not watch as I was more into the World Series than pre-season B-ball. Good to know that they are repeating the HD games as they did last year. Big thumbs up to Mark Cuban to get this done.

They weren't on the HD channel from 21, the HDNet they used to carry was what we refer to as HD Lite.

I also have DISH and couldn't find the Mavs game last night. I emailed HDNet and here is the response regarding HDNet, the Mavs, and DISH Network:

"Due to some technical constraints, DISH was not able to carry last night's game, however, we do anticipate that they will be ready to carry the games in the next few days - possibly in time for Thursday's match-up with the Kings, but we are not sure of the time frame.

We will post the channel position once we know which one DISH assigns for the Mavs games."

So, I guess I'll have to be patient and hope they getting everything straightened out over the next couples of days with DISH.

You know, when you look at the schedule, all of the HD games are the KXTX/KTXA games (none are FSSW)... you would think HDNet could provide the HD feeds to those stations to show on 11.1 or 21.1 OTA?

Might get a little better picture that way then over satellite.

I tried calling dish and they really had no idea what I was talking about. All they said was NBA HD is coming next season. Not very helpful.

Then again, to answer my own question, I guess it doesn't give much incentive to subscribe to a service that has HDNet. Never mind about the question.

I guess the better question would be: will FSSW be doing some HD broadcasts of their own via INHD?

Notice the change. Dish Network is not listed anywhere in here. Hope it is something that is just being worked out. With a change of a press release like that, I'm not encouraged.

I got this response back from the email address above:

"Dish has confirmed that they're set to carry the Mavs v. Kings tonight

(we're working on posting that to our website right now) on channel 9465

in the appropriate areas of Texas."

Only question left is what satellite will be providing the feed?
