Is there any spyder 3 owner here? I would like to know if it's a good tool to calibrate an LCD tv? I have found nothing on these board!

thx

Have the spyder 3 from an upgrade from Spyder TV 2007 which had the Spyder II probe. The Spyder 3 software package is a step down from the 2007 package with the removal of Grey Scale capability in the software. As far as probe accuracy and repeatibility I would say it is moderate.

I would recommend pursuing one of the Dispaly2 or Chroma 5 options available out there. If you can afford it an I1pro would be even better.

www.spectracal.com is a good place to start.

Define cheap?

an Eye1 display2 LT is very inexcpensive comes with different software, but hte same probe ad the regular display2. The basic software is fine for your computer monitor.

For your TV HCFR will work with the display2. HCFR has a steeper learning curve than calman, and it doesn't hold your hand the same way, but it will give you basically all the same readings and it's free.
