Yo I've just upgraded from an old 2007 pan 10uk model. Contrast is very nice on the new st30, but picture overall seems dark, no matter basic adjustments.


So under custom I tried to play around with black extension level, setting it to zero. Works under some circumstances, but other times blacks are totally gray.


Any tips? Which mode does everyone use? Cinema?


Can y'all recommend a non cinema mode with no crushing blacks for PC usage? Speaking of that, under PC usage sending hdmi @ 1080p, you wanna keep sharpness at 50, right (is that neutral)? And custom mode to disable that emphasize contours thing?

Change the hdmi color mode to non standard. Its probably set to auto but not detecting correctly.

yes, it was not auto detecting right (input from the PC). setting it to non-standard (0-255) makes everything perfect, along with zero/off black extension/agc/contour/whatever. This tv is SO nice

i'll do the same for ps3 input since that is set to output hdmi full rgb range.

I did the same thing when I bought my panny g20 last year,set ps3 to limited and you'll be good to go
