scratch that, measured the room, my ceiling is 7'4....i want to do a 100" screen with a 2" border.......and i have the polk csia6 with a sanus center speaker stand that measures 18 inches......which leaves me 9 inches......2 x 4's it has to be. How thick is the top of a stage typically? I have 2 DSW Pro 600s and 2 RTIA9s along with the csia6 to go on this stage.

From what I gather as well, I put sand in the stage on do not have it touch the other walls, correct?

I used 3/4" on my stage. Stage should be decoupled so it should not be touching the walls. Put plastic in the stage and then put the sand on top of it. It will make cleanup much easier just in case you need to.

That pretty much covers it - PT wood if in a basement, don't couple to the walls, plastic in the cavities (you can use garbage bags), fill with sand (if in basement) for mass, screw everything down.

Plastic in the cavities, I assume you mean between the walls and the stage?

No inside each stage cavity to contain the sand, keep it dry, and keep nesting critters out. Be sure the sand is dry before sealing up the stage, think mold.

Yep...it's been detailed pretty well in many threads, not the least of which is mine: http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showt...5#post16561725 (and following).

Please keep asking questions...that's how we all learn!

Tip: My HD kept their sand inside. It was bone dry. Lowe's had sand, but it was kept outside. The sand at Toys 'R Us was WAY more expensive than either HD or Big Blue!
