Any dudes here are still using standard definition camcorders? I've read most of the threads in this forum and found out most of you only discuss about HD camcorders. So SD camcorders are dead now? Just askin' man.

I wouldn't say they're dead... they're still in use all over. You're just looking in the wrong place. This is the AVS science forum where most of what is talked about is the more up to date stuff.... as well as what's coming out in the future.

If you would like to know about sd cams then probably a better place would be a more conventional cam forum like DVinfo.net

A lot of HD camcorders have SD capture modes. So it's a little moot to discuss. Drive space is cheap, and oversampling to SD is always better. Except where space and speed is important. But at technology grows in abilities less and less of an issue.

If you want to watch on SD CRT TV and have a very long 78x zoom then get the Panasonic SDR camcorder.
