I have a Panasonic SA-BT230 system and have begun ripping my DVD collection to stream via Apple TV 3. I realized after testing a couple of the rips that I wasn't getting 5.1. The "surround" button my the remote toggles between standard, manual, and multi-channel. It appears manual and multi-channel will give me sound in the rear speakers and the SRD is lit up on the front of the player/receiver. When I go to standard, which seems to be the default, I only get stereo out the front speakers on the left and right. I know I am ripping and encoding it properly. Is this true surround? What is the main difference between these settings?

Thank you.
