Got this at TheHDroom.....

Paramount Home Entertainment has unveiled plans to bring the Star Trek films with Next Generation cast to Blu-ray Disc this fall, confirming months of rumors suggesting they were on the way.

On September 29, Paramount will release the Star Trek: The Next Generation Motion Picture Collection on Blu-ray and DVD which includes Star Trek: Generations, Star Trek: First Contact, Star Trek: Insurrection, Star Trek Nemesis, and a bonus disc. The set totals 5 discs and will offer the films in 1080p video and 5.1 Dolby TrueHD audio.

Star Trek: First Contact, a fan favorite, will be the only Next Generation film offered separately from the box set on the same date. Also debuting individually for the first time on Blu-ray are the "even" numbered films: Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan, Star Trek: The Voyage Home, and Star Trek: Undiscovered Country.

I wish they hadn't given up on the 7.1 audio.

Oh God, not more grain added, removed, scraped, shipped in and out - shake it all about and do the hokey pokey, EE DNR raped etc crap..... Please no.

As for the films, I will buy them and add them to the first 6 and enjoy them, just like I did the first lot.

Wondering how TNG was shot ... film or video? If film, we'll likely see Blu-ray versions of these similar to the TOS boxed sets. As tempting as TNG is on DVD w/the DeepDiscount sale going on, I'll wait if Blu-rays of TNG is possible.

Definitely getting this set. I think we all know that Paramount aren't gonna surprise us and deliver clean, tight encodes with naturalistic grain on a catalogue title, so I've given up caring. I took the TOS movies set for what it was, and enjoyed myself immensely. I'm sure I'll be saying the same thing about the TNG set, as I like each and every one of those flicks too. And don't forget the commentary from Frakes on Insurrection, which will be worth the price of admission on its own.

The TV show was shot on film, but editing and post were performed on video tape.
