One of the attendees at the London show reported that the "...video clips [were] re-used, with only minor editing, from the excellent DVD packaged with versions of the [2005] "Episode 3 - Revenge of the Sith" soundtrack album...".

That DVD had the following montages:

17. New Day Dawns: Throne Room/Finale {from Episode IV: A New Hope}

FYI- the closest seats may not be the best, as another attendee stated: "The show was amazing, marred only slightly by unnecessary sound reinforcement for the front 15 rows. I was in row 6 and was expecting to hear the orchestra direct, but the sound from the speaker in front of me was overpowering and ruined the proper sound field of the orchestra..."

This is reinforced by the Ticketmaster statement that, "...To give fans who purchase early the best possible seats in which to experience the show, seats located towards the center and further away from the stage may be sold prior to seats that are closest to the stage..."

I don't know if I'll go to the concert, but I highly recommend the above mentioned DVD. A must for any fan of the music of Star Wars.

I am going to the show in Bridgeport, CT. They will have props from the movies, Anthony Daniels as the host, and the 501st Legion will be there. Sounds like a fun night to me. I watched the making of Star Wars in Concert on CPTV HD. There is going to be a 60' x 29.5' HD screen, a laser and lighting effects spectacle as well. I am looking forward to seeing what the Star Wars saga will look like in Hi Def. Should be very cool.

Cheers

I went to the show in San Jose yesterday and it was pretty amazing. The screen looked good with the exception of a massive red push. The music and sound were both fantastic. The Empire/Vader theme and Cantina Band songs were the highlight for me. Here are a few pics:

Thanks for sharing. Where were you seated? What was the overall mood of the audience? How many people were there, did it sell out? Any exclusive collectibles?

I really hope this hits the Midwest.

There was some pretty cool exclusive apparel that is not available on the SW in Concert website but not a whole not beyond that and the standard poster, mug, program, etc.

I'm not sure if it was sold out but it was definitely packed and I had a really tough time getting through the masses for views and pics of the props. The mood was very energetic, it was an all age crowd with plenty of costumes and force fx sabers, very family friendly. Anthony Daniels did a fantastic job and there was one encore performance of the Imperial March (Empire/Vader theme). I was seated in the very last row of the floor section towards the right. It was a pretty good seat and while it would have been nice to have been elevated a bit that would have placed me behind the surround speakers and would have taken away from the audio experience.

I would recommend it to any fan and especially any fan with kids that are being or have been introduced to the films. There was only one brief scene that I felt was inappropriate for younglings and it was a quick shot of the mutilated Anakin on the table from ROTS with the droids working on him as he screamed, it was towards the end of the show.

Went to the show yesterday evening here at the AT&T center in San Antonio. I think my seats were prime: center floor, 22nd row, just under the Spurs scoreboard. Seating, however, is worse than coach....and thats definitely NOT a good thing where obesity is as rampant as it is here in San Antonio. Lay off the tacos! Sheesh...

Star Wars is definitely in HD as the images were spectacular. I would imagine the Blurays will start appearing after the concerts first run.

The orchestral score was right on. I actually found myself forgetting the music was live I was so engrossed in the imagery.

Biggest disappointment was during that entire amazing, beautiful presentation of image and sound in a venue that wont or cant be duplicated and NOT ONE audio special effect. Thats right, no spaceship overhead passes, no lightsaber sounds, no podrace engine revs, NONE OF IT. It was music, dialogue, and video. They even had a segment dedicated to the Pod Race and not one audio effect!

Anyway, I guess that was on purpose because it was a symphony concert and I did find myself repeatedly forgetting that there were people actually playing and singing (hopefully thats an indication they were that good).

Well worth it....but I have to admit: I stopped by blockbuster on the way home to rent Phantom Menace just to see and HEAR the pod race properly.

Get the passes to view the exibit before the general public...theyre worth it.
