Only very few of the movies shown on Starz! are coming in in HD. Most show up as SD. I'm on Comcast (South Jersey). Is anyone else noticing this?

Is this so surprising...since Starz boss John Sie has always insisted few people can tell the difference between SD, ED and HD?

I've had it for 3 weeks and am EXTREMELY disappointed so far. It's a shame because they have completely different new realeases from HBO and Showtime.

Maybe THIS is why Charlie won't pony up the dough for this channel to be added to his lineup (Dish Network).

I thought the same thing when I heard about StarzHD coming out. Sie actually wanted to do 4:3 HD instead of 16:9! Not sure how he would do that?

He has. Its called upconverts. Though it isn't true HD in the sense the material is from a HD source it is a HD signal sent as a 4:3 picture.


What is really bad is they had a few OAR movies in December, but then they started showing them 16:9.

I don't even consider starzHD an HD channel anymore ,not even 50% of the shows are in HD. We get it as part of the package but I never watch it anymore.
