Hi,

I originally posted this to the "Local Info and Reception" forum, but there seems to be more troubleshooting topics here, so I thought I should try here as well.

I had my comcast box upgraded to a hdtv one yesterday and now Im getting crackling static in my audio on the standard definition channels. Unfortunately I was not home when the installer switched the boxes, otherwise I would not have let him leave without resolving this. I called comcast customer service this morning and all they could offer was rechecking the cable connections and schedule an appointment for next week.

Before the switch, when I had a regular digital cable box, the audio was fine on all of my channels and the dvd player. The audio is still good on the dvd and the hdtv channels, but not the standard channels.

Im using component video cables with regular rca cables for the audio for both the cable and dvd connections.

Any ideas?
