I have an outside patio wired for sound as part of a multi-zone audio system. Two pairs of waires were run, 1 to each end of the patio.

However, their is no way for the left and right channels to image, and would like each speaker to play ALL sound (left and right).

I know this can be done with a dual-voice coil speaker..but I only have two leads...so the signal must be combined BEFORE being sent to the speaker.

What's the best "safest" way to accomplish this?

Can it even be done?

Set your amplifier to mono. If your amp isn't capable of this you can get a rca y adapter and combine the outputs of your cd player into one then get another and split them again to use both amp channels but effectively getting left and right from each speaker.

Yes, you can do that but why? You will have some cancellation due to the summing to mono. The deck is an imprecise area for stereo imaging to begin with and won't really matter. Just run the left and right channels and be done with it.
