Stewart GrayHawk or Studiotek 130 With Sony VW-10HT?

I would like to hear from anyone who has tried both screens with a Sony 10HT.


I have a 10HT in a 120" diagonal 16:9 configuration. I have read about the virtues of both screens.


I like a bright image and have been running my 10HT with Cinema Black - Off on a white painted wall in a dark room. Interlaced DVD's and Direct Tv look really good to me on the wall.


I understand the Grayhawk will produce better blacks and contrast at the cost of a dimmer image where the Studiotek will be brighter with lesser blacks and contrast. I also understand that the GrayHawk was developed for digital projectors.


Being able to get decent images from Direct TV via S-Video is also important to me.


Should I consider Stewart Ultramatte 150?


I would appreciate any comments based on experience.

I've compared Grayhawk and Studiotek 130 with my LT150. Yes, Grayhawk has better contrast and black level while Studiotek 130 is more punchy. It's hard for me to choose either.


In your case, you can choose either 130+cinema mode (700 lumens?) or Grayhawk+full mode (1000 lumens?). But I believe the latter should be better. Grayhawk did improve the constrast and black (the weakness of LCD projector) a lot.
