Hi All,


I am happy to finally have my hometheater installed. I have a used Stewart 100" 4x3 motorized screen.


I bought on ebay from someone. And it had some wrinkles in it when I looked at it in person. The seller said to hang it out when I install it and it should go away.


But I have hung the screen for a week now and the wrinkles or waves are still there.


Does anybody have any suggestions on getting rid of these wrinkles in my stewart screen?

Do a search about wrinkled stewart screens. You should come up with a reply from Don Stewart abou what to do.

Stewarts motorized screens are tensioned, so you shouldn't have any wrinkles. It makes me wonder if the person you bought it from might have removed the screen from the case at some time and not put it back correctly. Stewart very rarely has problems with wrinkles on their tensioned screens.

Hi Guys,


Thanks for your replys. This is a motorized drop down screen. And it was not tensioned like the fixed frame screens.


But it is rolled up and rolled down with a motor.


Any advice would be appreciated.

Does the screen have a wire guide running down each side of the material, attached to the roll at the top and the batten at the bottom? If it does that means it is tab-tensioned.

Yes it appears that my motorized screen is tensioned. It still has the wrinkles. Now how to I fix it. How do I make it better.

Hmmmm,


Stewart screens are pretty tough, but it may have been mishandled at some point in its life. When you got the screen was it in its original packaging? I think Stewart recommends that people keep their packaging in case they need to ship the screen again. Was the screen shipped to you folded or was it rolled up?


What do these wrinkles and waves look like? Does it seem like the screen is not being tensioned enough and it is not hanging flat or does it look like the screen had been folded and there are wrinkles? (i.e. are the wrinkles smooth or do they have sharp edges)

The crinkling happens when the screen box goes vertical during shipping and part of the coil slips. Then if the package is then laid flat after this event, the crinkled gets ironed in.
