I have Strange Days on THX laserdisc Dolby digital also on region 2 DVD and the film mix is good ole Dolby digital six-track.
Terrific Dolby film mix at the start of the film with the POV shots, a special lightweight camera was made to fit on the head to give the proper perspective, and then it was down to Skywalker Sound to put an awesome soundtrack together.
I have the DTS Lazer-disc region 1. But the LD player isn't hooked up. I love the sound from LD. The sound from region 2 DVDs are very close. That is why I love my Oppo DVD players. Region 2 DVDs are much cheaper than Blu-ray & HD DVDs. No Blu-ray or HD DVDs until the war is over. For now Oppo is my choice.
I was rather disappointed with the audio commentary session which ends half way though the film, maybe someday (Kathryn Bigelow) will do a new audio commentary session for DVD, as the one that is presented on DVD is taken from laserdisc pressing.
