just a wild guess, but are the synch polarities for these two products different? As mentioned in the video processor forum, the advantage of using the extron was being able to manipulate the synch polarities. I might try different synch polarities with scaled NTSC and see if the transition is smoother.

I do believe you're onto something there, Don!


The ROCK is set for positive sync on both H and V.


The DTC-100 is set for EIA-770, which I think is positive H, negative V (or do I have it bass ackwards?).


I'll try changing the ROCK polarity tonight.

I recently got a TAW ROCK scaler to drive my G11, and I'm noticing a wierd problem switching from the ROCK's scaled 1365x768 output to the 1080i HDTV passthrough from my ProScan PSHD105 (DTC-100 clone). If I have the projector set to auto-detect input resolution, the screen goes totally black, and I have to shut off the ProScan (or switch it back to S-Vid) to even see the menu to manually switch resolutions.


Anybody got a clue what could be going on?

Well, it turns out changing the ROCK's sync polarity didn't do any good, but switching the retrace timing on the DTC-100 back to 'long' works like a champ.


I'm now a happy camper.
