I just left a customers house who has a pioneer elite and the samsung bdp-1500..... due to how we had to run the wires, we used cat 5 to an hdmi balun from the yamaha rx-v663 to the tv.. and the blu-ray was hooked up hdmi to the receiver. We were using audio quest hdmi cables... now for the problem.. while watching blu-ray there was "snow" all over the screen.. there must have been 1000 dancing pixels... i tried swapping hdmi cables.. nothing... i tried a new blu-ray... nothing... then i switched the blu-ray from 1080p to 1080i and it cleared it up!

Any one ever heard of this or something similar before?

It would be helpful to know the length of the cable run, but you should really continue asking questions in the Master thread. LINK

I had considered it, but i didn't know if something like this should be put there... since i was only gonna keep up with the thread for a day or so
