Hi guys. I have an Onkyo TX-SR600 that has a strange problem. When ever I twist the volume knob, the volume only decreases very slowly. It will start at 10 and move down to MIN, making the receiver impossible to use. The volume goes down very slowly whether I twist clockwise or counterclockwise.

The receiver was working fine yesterday. Can someone help me fix this problem? Is there something I should be looking at? I have tried resetting the receiver, and it has not helped. Maybe I should be looking at the insides?

FYI, the remote does control the receiver. I recently bought a cheap universal remote and hallelujah, the remote works perfectly. I do still wish I could fix the knob. Maybe someone can point me in the right direction? I think I'll check for bad solder joints, burnt out capacitors, etc.
