Hi All,

Does anyone have any experience building a media center/HTPC with any of the new Streacom Alpha passive cooled cases. Ive noticed there is now an Australian reseller in Life FX Digital which is good news for availability, but strangely the range doesn't seem to offer any new designs, only layout, capacity and quality 'improvements' to existing styles.

Im interested to hear any comments/thoughts/experience

From what they said in their press release ( streacom.com/news-item/introducing-alpha/ ), they intentionally kept the existing designs because they already look great, something I would agree with. Its similar to what they did a few years ago when they released EVO, same overall look, just improvements to the spec and internal parts. I think some of the improvement they have made this time are a big deal, for example making USB3.0 standard, and improving the optical drive bracket which was a pain in the ass. I also like the new power LED colour, white is more neutral and matches the black/silver better.
