I was away from gaming from 2000 until 2010 or so. I owned Nintendo systems growing up, and the button/control arrangements were pretty straight forward and simple with so few buttons.

I started back with a 360 in the summer of 2010 and have really only played a lot of Call of Duty on it. I just seemed to get the hang of those controls down pretty well. This past fall I purchased an Xbox One, and I've played 95% Titanfall on it.

But in general I am having the hardest time adapting to controls for other games.

I started Bioshock last night and I gave up after 15 or 20 minutes because I can't get used to the controls. The "aim" button shots electricity, and the jump & "use" buttons are backwards from the way I'm used to. There isn't any way to change this either.

Is this something people just force themselves to get used to or does it simply not bother you? I gave up on Sunset Overdrive and GTA V for the same reason - the controls were overwhelming.
